The Top 23 B2B SaaS SEO Agencies to Work With

Table of Contents

Key Takeaways

This article will cover the different SaaS SEO agencies and what you need to know about them.

For this list, I’ve either worked with them directly, have seen their work, or know them personally.

I can vouch for each one of these companies on this list, so hopefully it will give you a nice starting point when finding an SEO agency that specializes in B2B SaaS

As an SEO myself, I can’t imagine how hard it is to find an agency with all the sh*t that’s out there.

SEO is almost associated with snake oil salesmen with so many scams out there.

Because of this, I’m hoping to help you search just a little bit to find SEO agencies that specialize in SaaS and know what they’re doing.

I’ve either worked with these companies directly, heard from others about the results they achieved, or just have seen their work firsthand.

So, without further adieu, here are the top SaaS SEO agencies you should know.

The Top 23 SaaS SEO Agencies to Choose From

1. TaylorScherSEO

This wouldn’t be a “best-of” list if I didn’t include myself.

Humbly speaking, of course, I’ve been working as an SEO consultant for B2B SaaS for around 5 years now.

I primarily work in tech verticals like HR Tech and MedTech, but I also have worked with companies in verticals like:

  • Fintech
  • Edtech
  • MarTech
  • Analytics

I like to think of my approach to SEO as different from what’s commonly offered.

Instead of focusing on rankings and traffic (and telling you your SEO needs 3 more months), I focus on SEO that prioritizes your pipeline.

Whether that’s demos, trials, signups, or even MQLs, I often set achievable goals with my clients right from the start that prioritize revenue growth at a much lower acquisition cost.

Instead of using keyword research tools to find content topics, I blend audience research with your product solutions to find topics more likely to generate results.

Instead of focusing on vanity metrics like traffic and rankings, my main focus is revenue, leads, and conversions (metrics that matter).

Looking to learn more about how I set up my campaigns, here’s an article that talks about common SEO strategies I use for B2B SaaS.

My engagements are always tailored to each SaaS company that I work with.

In addition to providing consulting, I also work as a fractional SEO for those who need more of a hands-on role and not just strategy support.

2. House of Growth

I know John personally, and he is a legit SEO.

Outside of being a good person, I’ve seen his work firsthand.

Companies are always raving about him, and he has actual hands-on experience growing his own startup and exiting.

He has been in the trenches with growing his own SaaS startup, so he decided to switch to consulting full-time.

Similar to me, he’s also an SEO who knows how to prioritize leads over vanity.

John should be at the top of your list if you’re looking for a seasoned B2B SaaS SEO/growth consultant.

If you want to learn more about John and his company, you can check out his profile on LinkedIn, where he posts daily tips about SaaS SEO and marketing.

3. Mike Khorev

Mike Khorev is another consultant who’s well-known in his field.

I mean, even if you search for “SaaS SEO Consultant” or “B2B SEO Consultant,” he’s one of the first results that appear.

That doesn’t happen by mistake.

He obviously knows what he’s doing.

But ranking alone doesn’t just make him a solid SEO consultant for SaaS; he has plenty of case studies showing what he’s done for other SaaS companies.

He’s an extremely solid choice if you want an SEO consultant who knows what they’re doing.

4. Directive Consulting

Directive Consulting is a trusted partner for the world’s largest tech brands.

Directive’s team has generated over $1 billion in revenue for clients over the past decade and has a mix of services, including paid media, SEO, design, strategy, revenue operations, and video.

Directive primarily works with SaaS companies to move beyond guesswork and start predicting sales revenue with its industry-leading financial modeling.

Their whole goal is to help clients build winning game plans.

5. Brendan Hufford

Brendan Hufford is another well-known consultant for B2B SaaS.

While he works as an independent SEO consultant for SaaS, he also owns an agency called Growth Sprints.

To be completely honest, he’s probably one of my favorite people to follow on LinkedIn.

He almost always takes a no-bullshit approach to his posts and really knows how to offer unique value.

I always like his emphasis on moving away from traditional link-building methods to focusing on link-earning.

Creating content that naturally builds links instead of reaching out manually for them.

For that reason alone, he’s one of my favorite people to follow on LinkedIn.

6. Triple Dart

TripleDart is a well-known name in SEO for growth for SaaS companies.

Their whole focus is dedicated to acquisition marketing (focusing on the things that matter, not just vanity metrics).

TripleDart even created their own playbook when it comes to helping SaaS companies launch, scale, and thrive.

TripleDart’s mission is to provide B2B SaaS companies with confidence, impact, and ease by supporting their entire organization without the high costs of in-house employees.

Their focus is primarily in SaaS SEO, but they also provide performance marketing, marketing automation, paid media, content marketing, and brand strategy.

TripleDart has over 100 clients across 12 countries and a team of 80+ employees.

7. Rock the Rankings

Rock the Rankings is a growth agency that only works with SaaS clients.

Their focus is primarily on helping you scale customer acquisition.

With Rock the Rankings, you pretty much get the whole package.

They can help with consulting, link building, conversion rate optimization, and content creation.

Rock the Rankings has helped dozens of B2B SaaS and tech companies fast-track their growth.

The thing I like about them is that they go deep during the initial planning phase.

They take time to understand your audience while building out a full roadmap for the engagement.

Being consultants themselves, they know how important strategy is.

8. Simple Tiger

SimpleTiger is a marketing firm that focuses on SEO for SaaS companies.

While I don’t know their founders personally, I’ve heard nothing but good things about them.

Since this article is dedicated to “best SaaS SEO agencies,” when you searched this and look at other articles, you’ll notice that simple Tiger is mentioned almost every time.

The quality of their work speaks for itself.

They specialize in both B2B SaaS, B2C SaaS, and B2B2C SaaS.

They can help with tech SEO, content marketing, keyword research, link building, and market analysis.

They’ve worked with companies like Stamped, PointerPro, and Perpetua.

9. MadX Digital

MADX is another well-known SaaS SEO agency you’ll want to consider.

For every client they bring on, they take a unique approach to driving growth.

Very much different from traditional SEO agencies, they put a hard emphasis on moving away from vanity metrics like traffic and rankings.

Their engagements are always based on real KPIs like sales-qualified leads, signups, demo requests, and free trials.

With team members who have built successful SaaS products themselves, they’re able to use that knowledge for the clients they work with.

They also offer interactive reports that make it easy for clients to track results.

For every engagement, they’ll build out custom growth roadmaps that highlight the overall goals they wish to achieve throughout the engagement.

I also like how they put an emphasis on generating results in 90 days and not the usual “it will take a few more months to work.”

They know what they can achieve in a short amount of time, and they know how to go after it too.

10. Accelerate Agency

Accelerate is a data-driven SEO agency founded on the principle of delivering genuine value for their clients.

I love this in their about section: They were formed by SEOs who were frustrated with the subpar SEO services people were getting at premium prices.

Same.

Accelerate puts a heavy emphasis on the success of its team, goals, and clients.

They’re not just in it to bring on as many clients as possible; they genuinely care about their team and clients.

Accelerate has a solid track record of driving growth and ROI for major SaaS brands.

They’re a great starting point if you’re looking for a SaaS SEO agency that gets things done.

11. Codeless

Codeless is a mid-size global agency specializing in content production for SaaS companies, focusing on enhancing their organic visibility and attracting targeted traffic.

They combine strategy, SEO, writing, design, and video, with a particular strength in long-form articles.

Known for their data-driven approaches and proven SEO techniques, Codeless offers packages starting at $7,500/month, primarily aimed at startups, and provides comprehensive solutions for sustained growth and success in the competitive SaaS industry.

12. Virayo

Virayo offers specialized SEO services customized for each SaaS company they work with.

Virayo is another agency that’s made up of former SaaS founders.

Their strategies are always based on turning clicks into customers and focus heavily on understanding each company’s industry, audience, and product specifics.

They also work with a wide range of SaaS companies too, from seed-stage companies to enterprise SaaS companies.

Virayo is an agency that helps develop SaaS companies at every stage of their life cycle.

13. Skale

Skale is a specialized SaaS SEO agency that takes a results-driven approach to driving growth for its clients.

First things first, Skale’s main priority is qualified leads.

Again, they know how to avoid vanity and focus on revenue instead.

Skale understands the specific marketing and growth strategies required to scale SaaS companies.

While I don’t know their founder Jake personally, I have frequently come across his content before.

Just hearing the guy talk, it’s obvious he knows what he’s talking about.

14. First Page Sage

First Page Sage is an SEO and thought leadership marketing company based in San Francisco, CA.

They generate leads for businesses by ghostwriting content for their website.

First Page Sage has a pretty impressive client list that includes names like Salesforce, Microsoft, US Bank, Logitech, and Verisign.

However, the majority of their clients are mid-sized companies and startups.

For every engagement, First Page Sage starts off by putting together a team that understands the client’s industry and crafts a content strategy based on questions coming from their ICP.

As a results-driven agency, First Page Sage puts their clients and their marketing goals first by focusing on SEO, PR, and conversion rate optimization.

15. Powered by Search

Powered by Search is a global team of SEO consultants that specializes in helping B2B SaaS companies.

They have worked with a wide array of clients, including those in complex niches like insurance, healthcare, and cloud computing.

They also have a great content profile too.

Not only are they performing well on search, but their content is genuinely helpful.

I find myself reading their articles pretty frequently.

PBS is a great option if you’re looking for a dedicated team of experts and not just a generic SEO agency.

16. AUQ.io

AUQ.IO is a full-service SEO agency specializing in SaaS and B2B startups.

Their team includes SEO-trained developers, designers, content writers, and link builders so they can basically provide the full package for you.

While I’m not familiar with them personally, I can vouch for them based on feedback I’ve heard from previous clients.

They are a legit agency and a full-package one at that.

17. HawSEM

HawkSEM is a results-driven digital marketing agency that specializes in a wide range of services.

This is probably one of the first agencies I’m recommending that doesn’t primarily specialize in SEO.

Their services range from PPC management, paid social, content marketing, landing page optimization, and conversion rate optimization.

While they might be a full package agency, I can vouch for their knowledge and work in SEO.

I know a few of their team members personally and can vouch that they’re legit.

They’ve worked with some huge enterprise clients like Verizon, Datadog, and even Microsoft.

Their work (and case studies) pretty much speak for themselves.

They’re not a typical digital marketing agency, and they actually know what they’re doing when it comes to SEO.

18. Omniscient Digital

Omniscient Digital helps B2B SaaS companies grow organically by creating custom strategies that play to each brand’s strengths.

Their approach, which they call OmniscientX, blends in-depth research with data analysis to develop these strategies and help scale up content creation.

While I can’t speak to their approach, the name alone earns them a spot on this list.

Just kidding, they’re a legitimate SEO agency too.

They’re all about turning web traffic into sales by focusing on content that works at each stage of the customer’s journey.

They’ve even worked with some big names like Jasper, Loom, HotJar, Order, Vendr, and Simon

19. Saffron Edge

Saffron Edge is a digital marketing agency that’s been around for over a decade, started by Vibhu Satpaul.

They specialize in helping SaaS grow through conversion-focused SEO.

Their services cover all the bases – from growing your audience through both organic and paid channels to creating content that resonates with your ICP, managing social media, and even building websites from scratch.

With a team that has more than 20 years of combined experience, they know how to boost traffic, bring in leads, and increase revenue for all kinds of businesses, whether you’re just a SaaS startup or an enterprise company.

Saffron Edge is also big on customer service (which, unfortunately, gets neglected a lot).

They aim to build long-term partnerships by being clear and honest in their communication and by offering ongoing marketing support throughout your company’s life cycle.

20. Siege Media

Siege Media, out of San Diego, offers a mix of creatives, marketers, and SEO experts.

They’re all about making great content and making sure it gets seen.

Over time, they’ve generated $148,646,000 in value for their clients.

They offer content writing, content design, interactive media + everything on the SEO side, like technical SEO and link building.

Like Powered by Search, I’m also a huge fan of their content too.

Their website content and content created by their founder Ross is always top-notch.

21. Flying Cat

Flying Cat Marketing is a full-service SEO and content agency that helps SaaS companies grow faster.

They have a solid team of in-house content creators and SEO experts.

They work by blending data-driven SEO with deep customer insights.

This lets them create content that not only brings in traffic but also solves real growth problems.

Like reaching actual customers, driving demo requests, and boosting MRR.

I also like that they take pride in being a woman-owned and led agency. Their leadership team is almost primarily made up of women.

Again, I don’t know Maeve (the founder) personally, but I do like following her posts on LinkedIn.

I even have her post notifications turned on because they’re genuinely helpful/useful posts.

22. Smash Digital

Smash Digital is an SEO agency specializing in high-quality link building.

They offer scalable SEO growth strategies that are based on earning highly authoritative links.

Links that aren’t built for the purpose of having links but links that also increase brand reach (we call this digital PR)

With over 17 years of experience, Smash Digital is a solid agency if you need support with link building.

23. Growth Plays

Growth Plays specializes in content strategy and SEO for B2B SaaS companies.

Their approach to content is a mix of thought leadership, product marketing, and demand generation.

Their content strategies are also based on 2 different principles: companies who need a GTM strategy and companies who are established but want to target their ICPs full buyer’s journey.

Notable clients include Lattice, Calendly, and Cortex

Why You’ll Want to Hire an SEO Agency Specializing in SaaS

I’ll go against the grain and say you don’t want to hire just any SEO agency.

You want one that understands how SaaS SEO works.

And yes, SaaS SEO is actually a thing.

A traditional SEO approach just doesn’t work for SaaS companies, it has to be a tailored strategy based on what works.

You’ll just end up being burned if you work with a company that’s recommending generic advice.

Knowing Whether You Need an SEO Agency, SEO Consultant, or Fractional SEO

While it’s not entirely necessary, I figured it’d be helpful to include a section on the differences between each role.

Some companies will need an SEO consultant, and others might need an SEO agency.

Really, the difference between the two (or three) in this case is your:

  • Goals
  • Budget
  • Team structure

For companies without a content team in place, an SEO agency might be the better choice. They’ll easily help you scale by taking over for your content team.

If you do have a content team in place but need additional guidance on what to focus on, an SEO consultant might be the best starting place.

They’ll help act as strategy support for your team and will help guide you in the right direction.

A fractional SEO is kind of a more involved consultant.

So, instead of only being involved on the strategy side, they’ll basically take on the role of an in-house team member.

So it comes with the benefit of consulting + the benefit of an extremely qualified in-house team member.

The best thing is that you’re not paying a full-time wage for a senior member.

A Few Additional Criteria for Finding the Right SaaS SEO Agency

I’ve highlighted throughout this article how important it is to find an SEO agency that actually specializes in SaaS.

I figured my closing section will just cover how you can improve your search when looking for an SEO agency or consultant.

Are They Specialized in SEO?

This is probably the biggest thing you’ll want to consider.

Does this agency actually specialize in SEO?

While there are some great integrated marketing agencies out there, I’ve found the more general ones are pretty terrible when it comes to SEO.

They usually start as a broader SEO agency and then decide to include SEO into their services since it’s a popular area.

The problem with this is that they never specialized in SEO.

They will just put out a job for a junior SEO position and then have that SEO manage all of their projects.

Usually, with some issues.

So, my first piece of advice is to find an agency that actually specializes in SEO and does not just offer an all-in-one package.

What Kind of SEO Support Will They Give?

I’d also ask how they’d support you through SEO:

  • Will they build links for your site
  • Focus on building out content
  • Focus on strategy?

The biggest piece of advice here is to ask the agency what their goals are for your website.

It should never be rankings.

It should always be something that impacts revenue.

Revenue growth, demo requests, free trials, signups, etc.

For almost any SaaS, especially PLG companies, this should always be the main priority.

What Does Their Team Makeup Look Like?

So this kind of goes off my first point, but I think it’s something worth looking at.

If you want to see what you’re getting into, I’d recommend looking at the company’s team page to see what their employees’ positions look like.

I can’t tell you how rare it is to have an agency that’s primarily made up of account managers and maybe 1-2 SEOs.

If you’re looking to partner with an SEO agency, they should ideally mostly be made up of SEOs.

And not just junior SEOs either.

Can They Offer References?

Some SEO agencies are a little weird about this.

But a solid way to get an understanding of a company is to ask for references.

Actually get their client’s contact information and ask them whether they recommend their services.

Just get a general feel for what it’s like working with them.

If the agency refuses to give you any references, that might be a bit of a red flag for you.

Wrapping Up

After so many words, I hope you found this article helpful!

This was my personal list to help you find an SEO agency or consultant that can make a difference for your SaaS.

All of these choices I’ve included are solid options, so hopefully this will help your search just a little bit.
